Stanley Rosen

Professor of Political Science at the University of Southern California and a scholar of cinema. He studied Chinese in Taiwan and Hong Kong and has visited China nearly seventy times over the past forty years; his work on Chinese film and culture is widely respected among Chinese film scholars. His current projects include research on shifting attitudes and behaviour among young people in China, and on the prospects for Chinese cinema in international markets. He is an affiliated scholar at the Institute of Chinese Culture and International Communication at Beijing Normal University, an international advisory board member at the Centre for Media Studies at Shanghai University, and was a keynote speaker at the 2012 Chinese American Film Festival forum in Los Angeles.
