Kazuhiro Soda

Kazuhiro Soda and Hirokazu Kore-eda are often described as the twin peaks of Japanese documentary and fiction respectively. Working to his own set of ten commandments, Soda has developed a rigorous observational method; his films include Campaign, Oyster Factory and Inland Sea. Campaign won a Peabody Award, Peace took Best Documentary at the 35th Hong Kong International Film Festival, and Zero was selected for the Forum at the 70th Berlinale. He has judged the documentary sections of the 16th Busan International Film Festival and the 20th Shanghai International Film Festival.
